GA Governor Brian Kemp and First Lady Marty Kemp at the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp and First Lady Marty Kemp recently visited the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia. The Kemps are very active in promoting pet adoption throughout Georgia and the HSSCG staff enjoyed meeting them and introducing them to volunteers and the animals at the shelter. Twice since becoming First Lady of Georgia, Mrs. Kemp has hosted a “Pet Adoption Day” at the Governor’s Mansion in Atlanta and plan to host more. The last event in June resulted in 22 adoptions. That’s making a difference! She and the Governor also graciously posed with the animals at HSSCG in efforts to promote their adoptions and placement into forever homes.
You too can help support the mission of HSSCG to find homes for stray, displaced, and surrendered animals. Save the date: November 8! (It rhymes so you can remember that!) Join HSSCG staff, volunteers, and friends for an enchanting evening of boot-scootin’ under the stars at the annual Blue Jean Ball. The festivities will once again be hosted at Sinclair Planation, the beautiful grounds at the home of Robin and Davis Love. The night will be set under the oaks and the warm glow of the lights as the evening begins with live music by Suzy and the Bird Dogs, then transitions to fun on the dance floor with party music spun by DJ Weave (Dr. John Weaver). There will be plenty of delicious local food and an open bar to quench your thirst. As the night progresses, you will have the opportunity to bid on an array of fantastic silent and live auction items. Don’t worry about dressing up or needing a fairy godmother for this ball, Cinderella; just grab your favorite boots and jeans and come join the party! Tickets are $160 per person and can be purchased at hsscg.org/blue-jean-ball/.
