With each new year comes the opportunity to begin anew. Oftentimes we feel as if we are stuck in a rut and need new outlets in which to express ourselves. Two very easy ways to do that are with our clothing and through the décor in our homes.
When we think of expressing ourselves through our clothing and accessories we should think of stepping out with color. A splash of color, whether it’s with a purse, scarf, or a new pair of shoes, is a fun way to jazz up any outfit and make a statement. Be bright and bold! Challenge yourself to select a color or style that you typically wouldn’t choose.
Our homes are another fun and exciting outlet for self-expression. Change the color of your walls. Select new lamps or pillows. Hang new art. Even simply painting an old piece of furniture can easily put a new spin on a room and give you an entirely new look. Celebrate a new season or capture your mood through your décor.
In this new year, challenge yourself with new ways to express your outlook simply through what you wear or in the way you style the space in which you live.
Two Friends
Marti Tolleson opened the original Two Friends store in Perry, Georgia, in 2000 with her friend, Francie Hargrove. They continued as partners until 2009 when Francie and her family moved to North Carolina. Marti took over ownership and in 2011 opened a second location on St. Simons Island and then Two Friends Too, featuring French and English antiques and home accessories, in 2013.
