On Saturday, March 2, the third annual Aviation Career Day will be held at the St. Simons Island Airport from 9am until 1pm. This free event will offer an opportunity for students in middle and high school, and their parents, to explore careers in aviation, and to speak with industry and education professionals. Students will have a chance to try out actual flight simulators used to train today’s pilots. Everyone participating will be treated to free hotdogs as well.
Children ages 8-17 are also invited to experience the thrill of flight by taking a free Young Eagles Rally airplane ride over the Golden Isles, offered by Chapter 905 of the Experimental Aircraft Association. A display of aircraft will also be available for guests to visit, and speak with the owners, builders and pilots.
