Historic Brunswick Walking Tours: Wanderings through Windsor Park

Join the historians of the Coastal Georgia Historical Society for the latest installment of the Historic Brunswick Walking Tour series – Wanderings through Windsor Park. Participants will be exploring the historic neighborhood of Windsor Park, just east of downtown Brunswick. Known as Brunswick’s first suburb, the neighborhood consists of excellent examples of typical American architectural styles from the 1920s through the 1960s. The tour includes stops outside the original Brunswick Golf Club clubhouse and homes designed by noted local architects. The guides will also share information about how Windsor Park got its name as well as how this neighborhood fits into the development of Brunswick and patterns of residential districts nationally.
The tour is route is a loop, so participants will meet at Howard Coffin Park and return as a group to Howard Coffin Park. There is no seating available during the tour, which is approximately 1.5 miles long and will last about an hour and a half. The cost of the tour is $20 per person. Tours are limited to 20 people per tour for the best experience. All tours are scheduled on Sunday afternoons, beginning at 3 p.m. There are currently four dates scheduled: March 6, March 20, April 3, April 24.
