On Sunday, October 5, the Literary Guild of St. Simons Island will host an afternoon “meet and greet” reception for local writers. Authors who have self-published within the last decade are invited to attend and sell their books. Nancy Matthews, Chair of the event, said this idea came about because there are so many wonderful writers who live in the coastal community. “Getting a book published by a large company these days is almost impossible since the industry has changed drastically over the past decade. Many people have chosen to publish their own books and these are the authors we want to showcase; we want to give them an opportunity to let the public know about their books and talent.”

The program will be in the atrium of the St. Simons Island Casino from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. It is free and open to the public; light refreshments will be available to authors.
