Taylor Brown grew up on St. Simons and graduated from the University of Georgia in 2005. He settled in Wilmington, NC, after long stints in Buenos Aires, San Francisco, and the mountains of North Carolina. He is the editor-in-chief of BikeBound.com, and he likes old motorcycles, thunderstorms, and dogs with beards. His work has appeared in a wide range of publications, including The New York Times, Garden & Gun, Chautauqua, The North Carolina Literary Review, and many others. He is the author of three novels: Fallen Land and Gods of Howl Mountain, each finalists for the Southern Book Prize, and Pride of Eden, which won the 2021 Georgia Author of the Year Award for Literary Fiction. He visits the Guild to talk about his latest book, Wingwalkers, (St. Martin’s press), a boozy and nimble story of William Faulkner and two flying daredevils who meet by chance in 1934 at Mardi Gras. Publisher’s Weekly calls it “thrilling and elegant.”
