On Saturday, February 22, runners and walkers of all ages will take to the streets and beach for the 2014 Super Dolphin Day Race (SDDR) and expo! Now in its 36th year, the SDDR features 10K and 5K races, a 1-mile Fun Run, and Diaper Dashes for the very youngest “racers.” This family-friendly event takes place at the St. Simons Island Casino and the race route winds through the picturesque St. Simons Island Village. There will be new start times for all the races and this year’s Fun Run will have a new route--on the beach! (Weather and tide permitting.) Don’t forget about the pre-race Pasta Party on Friday, 5:00-8:00 p.m. Pick up your race packets and bid on great silent auction items. For more information, visit superdolphinday.com. An annual tradition and fundraiser for St. Simons and Oglethorpe Point Elementary Schools, the Super Dolphin Day 10K, 5K races and Fun Run are a great way to be active and support the community.
