Sushi
Whether or not the tables are full on the outdoor patio overlooked by one of the famous St. Simons Island tree spirits, hungry diners make a constant stream through the door of Fancy Q. The excellent sushi and hibachi meals have kept the restaurant busy no matter the weather and season after season ever since it opened in 2008.
When you walk in, you’re always greeted warmly by the chefs behind the sushi bar and service is consistently prompt and friendly. If that doesn’t win you over, surely the divine Eddie’s Special complimentary appetizer will do the trick. Whether you’re ordering sushi, sashimi, tempura, seaweed salad, or hibachi from the more than 100 menu items offered, you will not be disappointed. The portions are ample, and with a bowl of miso soup and salad accompanying your meal, you won’t leave hungry. Local seafood is used and is handpicked for its quality, so you know you’re always getting the best the waters around us have to offer.
The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner all week and the lunch specials are available every day. The menu stays constant year-round, but there are new special rolls listed on the board daily. If you don’t see what you’re looking for or would like to substitute a sauce or an ingredient, the chefs are always happy to custom make a special roll just for you, you need only ask.
If you’re on the mainland, the owner’s brother has opened a second Fancy Q location in Brunswick that has an expanded outdoor seating area. It’s the same family, and the same great quality. Whether you choose a seat outside in the sun, a cozy booth in the dining room, a seat at the sushi bar, or even just stop in to pick up a carry out order, you can’t go wrong with Fancy Q!
