Creating Memorable Events
Straton Hall Events began as a small concept in 1998, and since then has flourished into an entertaining empire. Owners Stacy Bass and Jay Anderson are much loved and known around the Golden Isles as true Southern gentlemen that simply like to entertain. Straton Hall Events is most notable for producing weddings, booking more than 300 per year. However, the fellas and their “dream team” equally enjoy staging birthday parties, christenings, anniversaries, and charity events.

“A Downing Christmas” at Brunswick Manor is a favorite event for the team. Carolers on the veranda set the tone and butlers greet guests with beverages and hors d’oeuvres. St. Nicholas himself leads guests on a tour of the bed and breakfast that has been decked out in holiday splendor with jaw-dropping decorations. (After all, the Manor’s Christopher Radko ornament-adorned tree was featured on TLC’s Extreme Christmas Trees.) The evening’s menu is no less impressive.
When there isn’t an event to celebrate, the Straton Hall team can create one. The Brunswick Manor periodically hosts murder mystery dinners and an annual “Final Night On The Titanic: A First Class Evening.” This most-requested theme dinner celebrating the launching of the RMS Titanic grows in opulence every year. Straton Hall chefs reproduce the final first class dinner menu and serve it on Titanic china. The eleven-course meal is somewhat reduced for time, but includes a different wine with each course. Guests enjoy conversations with "John Astor,” “Molly Brown,” and “Captain Smith," who describe the history and grand living in 1912. This evening is a wonderful treat after the holidays.
“Life is one big event. It must be tasteful, beautiful and one to be remembered,” exclaims Stacy.
‘Tis the season for parties! Straton Hall Events can help you host a spectacular holiday party for your family, friends, staff or clients. The team can come to your house, office, or you can choose one of their festive venues. In historic downtown Brunswick, Straton Hall Events resides in a distinguished, newly renovated 3-story building, the Elliot. You can choose the charm of the 1st floor Southern Table and Bar, which easily holds 50 people. The bright, open 3rd floor modern loft offers space for 100 guests and can be transformed with high top cocktail tables, white leather lounge furniture or dining tables with linens. Another choice is Brunswick Manor, just a few blocks over on Egmont Street. It is an ideal venue for elegant, smaller gatherings. If you’d like a tranquil island venue where you can hear the waves rushing the shore, Villas by the Sea on Jekyll Island is perfect for larger fetes, offering space to seat 300 guests for dinner or 1000 for cocktails. This holiday season, Straton Hall also has an exclusive catering contract with The Blue Water SSI, so they can provide a fine dining experience overlooking the waterfront at this exceptional location in the Village by the Pier.

Holiday entertaining tips from the Straton Hall Events team:
Do your cooking early. When planning your menu, choose cuisine that can be prepared before the event and heated or cooked that day. That will give you plenty of time to get all dolled up.
Use fresh greenery. This time of year, Straton Hall uses a lot of natural greenery. Flora such as cedar, ivy, pine and holly add a fresh look and natural brisk scent. Spray magnolias with a mixture of one part Johnson and Johnson Future Floor Wax and one part water mixed in a spray bottle to make them last much longer beautifully.
Presentation goes a long way. You can have a fabulous party no matter how small the food budget. If you need to serve take-out or your menu consists of cashews and chips, serve them in crystal bowls. Gorgeous dishes make everything look sophisticated.
Make ‘em mingle. If you’re throwing a cocktail party, have fewer chairs than people. This will force your guests to circulate and mingle the good old-fashioned way.
