Golden Isles Olive Oil offers one of the largest selections of wines by the glass on St Simons Island. We are proud to be part of the Georgia landscape and are all about supporting local. Among the many offerings in our wine bar, we feature selections from three Georgia wineries.
Perhaps the most unique is Rabbiteye Blueberry Wine from Bell Farms in Bristol Georgia. Bell Farms was established in Southeast Georgia over 40 years ago. Their 100% blueberry wine is crafted with two pounds of homegrown blueberries per bottle and loaded with antioxidants that benefit your health. They produce four varieties of blueberry wine: Brightwell, Powderblue, Tifblue Sweet, and Super Sweet. We serve their Tifblue Sweet full-bodied blueberry wine by the glass and use it to create one of our most popular concoctions, the Blueberry Wine Slushy. It tastes like summer!

Other sweet Southern offerings come from Still Pond Winery. Tucked away in South Georgia, just outside of Arlington, Still Pond Winery produces a variety of premium Muscadine wines, including the Notchaway White Muscadine that we carry. Crafted from the Carlos muscadine grape, nurtured by the sun-drenched banks of the Ichauway Notchaway Creek, this traditionally sweet white wine has earned the title of Georgia’s Best Muscadine Wine for three consecutive years. Its delicate floral aroma and lusciously sweet palate, bursting with notes of ripe peach, apricot, and honey, offer a taste of Southern charm and the simple joys of life. Whether enjoyed on a warm coastal evening, paired with a delectable dessert, or shared amongst friends and family, Notchaway White is a celebration of tradition, a tribute to the land, and a timeless classic.

We also serve Still Pond Winery’s Confederate Peach Wine. This captivating blend of sun-ripened peaches and estate-grown muscadine grapes conjures images of warm summer days, the sweet scent of magnolia blossoms, and whispered tales of a bygone era. The luscious, juicy notes of Georgia peaches intertwine with the delicate sweetness of the muscadines, creating a symphony of flavors that dance on the palate. Each sip is a journey back in time, a taste of Southern hospitality and the enduring spirit of resilience that has shaped our land. Confederate Peach is more than just a wine; it’s a toast to the legends that live on in every corner of Still Pond. At Golden Isles Olive Oil, we serve it by the glass and blend it up as a fruity frozen treat as another flavor of our popular wine slushies.
Let’s step away from the sweet wines of the state and turn to Georgia winemaking at its finest. Chateau Elan is located in Braselton, just north of Atlanta, and they harvest grapes from 3500 acres of fertile vineyards. They craft more than 30 wines blended with grapes from both Georgia and California. From humble beginnings, Chateau Elan Winery has emerged as one of the largest and most awarded wineries on the East Coast. They offer more than 30 wines produced with grapes grown in their Braselton and South Georgia vineyards, as well as grapes hand-picked and transported, whole cluster, in refrigerated trucks from California’s Lake County and Clarksburg regions. Golden Isles Olive Oil serves up two of their best: Chardonnay American Reserve and Velvet Reserve.

Chateau Elan with a charcuterie board at Golden Isles Olive Oil
Chateau Elan Chardonnay American Reserve is a beautiful golden chardonnay. At the nose, strong peach jam opens the bouquet while light gardenia flavors and a sweet vanilla background follow. It is intense on the palate with a sustained acidity and clean finish. It’s a perfect complement to one of our cheese and charcuterie boards or one of entrees such as our North Carolina Fresh Water Rainbow Trout or Seared Atlantic Salmon.
Chateau Elan Velvet Reserve is a delightful choice when looking for a smooth yet vibrant ruby red blend. It’s crafted primarily from Zinfandel and Tannat grapes, creating a blend that dances on the palate. With oaky notes and robust tannins, it’s food-friendly and makes an ideal pairing with our Chocolate Balsamic Short Rib entree or Seared Pork Ribeye.
