The Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia is a local independent organization serving the community of Brunswick, St. Simons Island, Sea Island, and Savannah, Georgia. They reach out to those in Jacksonville, Florida as well. As such, they are not affiliated with the National Humane Society or the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS), nor do they receive funding from these organizations. The HSSCG is unique because it is the only no-kill animal shelter/adoption center in the area that is 100% donor-funded.

LOW-COST SPAY/NEUTER CLINIC - Spaying and neutering animals has proven to be the most effective method of alleviating the animal overpopulation problem. HSSCG offers low-cost spay/neuter services to members of the community.
SHERRIE'S PET FOOD BANK - Named after a former residents, the pet food bank is a food distribution program assisting area pet owners in need with free dog and cat food.
ANIMAL ADOPTION - Every animal that comes into our care is spayed/neutered and provided necessary veterinary treatment, so that healthy animals are ready to join happy homes. To help cover the cost of these services, adopting families are charged a modest adoption fee. Thank you for supporting your local Humane Society!
