No Place Like Gnome Brunswick PorchFest 2022
Follow the yellow bricks and gnomes on Sunday, November 13 to find the musical magic at Brunswick Porchfest. That’s right, this awesome community event in Historic Downtown Brunswick is returning for its fourth year and registration is currently open for performers, porch hosts, volunteers, and sponsors. This year’s theme is inspired by The Wizard of Oz and the event’s signature gnome mascot, but you’ll have to do more than tap your ruby slippers to join the celebration.
If you’ve never attended this free neighborhood festival of music and fellowship presented in partnership with the City of Brunswick and the Downtown Development Authority, you might think you’ve found yourself somewhere over the rainbow with all the fantastic bands and performers! For one day, dozens of local and regional bands and entertainers from a wide variety of genres. gather in downtown Brunswick and perform on various porches throughout the city’s historic district. 2022 Porchfest Committee Chair/Head Gnome Jason Umfress says, “PorchfestBWK is the definition of the term ‘community event.” This year’s Porchfest promises to be another great day of fun, music, and fellowship in Historic Downtown Brunswick. It’s a magical day when porches become stages and strangers become friends.” Organizers are currently seeking bands, musicians and other performers, homeowners in the historic district to host performances on their porches, volunteers to help organize, set up, break down, and help during the event, and sponsors to lend their support.
“Porchfest has become one of the signature events in the Golden Isles. If you enjoy good times with old friends, meeting new ones, and listening to great live music under the live oaks of the historic district, Brunswick Porchfest is where you need to be on November 13,” Umfress adds. Porchfest will take place from noon to 6:00 p.m. with Halifax Square on Prince Street in downtown Brunswick again acting as the hub for the event. Since you won’t melt like the Wicked Witch of the West, the event is held rain or shine. The celebration will also include food trucks, children’s activity area, games, a porch decorating contest with the “There’s No Place Like Gnome” theme, and more.
