In the April issue of EIL, we shared Leslie Faulkenberry’s story, “Why It Matters,” about the Coastal Georgia Honor Flight program. On May 2, forty-five WWII and Korean War veterans accompanied by sixty support personnel traveled to Washington, DC via chartered jet. The Coast’s first-ever Honor Flight was a full day of reflection and celebration in tribute to the brave men and women who served selflessly in defending freedom and our country. The Coastal Georgia Honor Flight Hub and the Communities of Coastal Georgia Foundation hosted this momentous event and shared their photos from the trip with us. Visit coastalgeorgiahonorflight.org for information about ways you can help make a trip like this possible for other veterans.
